Datacenter proxies run on server IPs announced from hosting ASNs. They are the cheapest and fastest option by a wide margin, and perfectly adequate for any target that does not score IP reputation.
Because the ASN is a hosting provider, anti-bot systems can identify them instantly. That is not a problem on tolerant targets — and on those, nothing beats their throughput per dollar.
Buy in subnets rather than singles so one flagged neighbour does not take out your whole set, and spread requests across several ranges. Pair with proper header and TLS hygiene to avoid stacking signals against you.
Use datacenter for sitemaps, RSS, APIs, price feeds, uptime checks, internal tools and any endpoint that returns 200 reliably. Escalate to ISP or residential only where blocks appear.
