Mobile proxies route traffic through cellular networks, so your exit IP is a carrier address shared with thousands of real phones behind carrier-grade NAT — the hardest IP class for a platform to block.
Because CGNAT multiplexes many subscribers onto one public IP, banning that address would cut off legitimate customers. Platforms therefore apply far softer penalties to mobile ranges than to any other IP type.
You either rent a dedicated port on a physical modem farm or buy access to a rotating mobile pool. Dedicated ports give you a private IP and an API to force a carrier rotation; shared pools are cheaper but you inherit neighbours.
Choose mobile for social media management, app QA, high-risk account recovery and anything that keeps getting flagged on residential. Avoid it for bulk scraping — bandwidth is limited and price per GB is the highest on the market.
