SOCKS5 Proxy Providers

Almost every serious proxy network exposes a SOCKS5 endpoint alongside HTTP, but only some support UDP, and that single detail decides whether the product fits your use case.

SOCKS5 support ranges from a simple alternate port on the same gateway to full UDP ASSOCIATE with authenticated sessions. Vendors rarely advertise the difference clearly.

Before buying, ask three questions: is UDP supported, is username and password auth available or is it whitelist-only, and does the SOCKS5 endpoint reach the same pool as HTTP. Then test with curl and the socks5-hostname flag.

Pick a SOCKS5-first vendor when your stack is non-HTTP. Otherwise choose on pool quality and treat SOCKS5 as a bonus endpoint.
